A song is like a dream, and you try to make it come true. They’re like strange countries that you have to enter. – Bob Dylan

Being able to sing and write music, with a level of excellence, is a gift that I’ve been blessed with. I struggled for many years because I didn’t understand my worth, and how valuable these skills can be. Now I am blessed to make a full time income from my song-writing, which, amusingly I started at 7 years old as a way to learn English.

As talented as I am, I had to learn a lot, and go through many struggles. Many of which could have been avoided with the proper knowledge. Nevertheless, I am happy and grateful that I was able to learn from my struggles, to become who I am now.

Now, I have made it my mission to help other creatives like you and me, which is why I’ve created this website.  Within this site you have FREE access to the resources, skills, and wisdom that I’ve learned from not just my own experience, but also from my mentors. If you ever have any questions please click the bottom right icon(*please note: this will open the messenger app).

My greatest wish is to provide value to everyone who comes on this site. I hope I have done a great job by providing valuable content to you, if not, please get in contact and let me know how I can be of service and I will do my best.

Musical Background

Writing Music

I grew up with a very strong musical background because of my mom being a musician herself. Growing up in Haiti, I watched her compose, and produce music for her group called Voix des Anges (The voice of Angels); where she was the lead vocalist.

Watching her perform, was like watching Beyoncé. She had amazing charisma, energy, and is unbelievably talented. It was very inspiring to follow the process of her creating a song, to publishing and then play it out on stage. Then, one day I thought to myself “If she can do it, I can too”.  From there, the passion and confidence to pursue music was ignited.

At 7 years old I finally got every little Haitian girl’s wish at the time. Which was to migrate from Haiti to the U.S.!

As happy, and grateful I was about coming to the U.S, it was a very challenging time for me. I only knew how to speak French and Créole at the time, so I had to adapt very quickly to this new language around me. There was a bit of culture shock but I didn’t let it faze me.

I decided it would be a fun idea to watch MTV and BET videos. Then, I would put together the few words I could understand into a sentence, as an effort to learn English. Eventually, I started creating my own songs, which I structured how my mother structured her songs. Overtime, I became more creative, and started using my own styles and methods.

Years past, and the notebooks started piling up. Writing became second nature; and naturally, since I was always writing music, I was also always singing

Singing Music

Singing to me, (being honest here) was a challenge.

Growing up I was a very shy kid, who was very soft spoken, and reserved. Moving around as often as I did, did not help much. My mother knew how talented I was, and how much I love music, so she would always push me to participate in events. So from the age of 5 I’ve been singing at churches, talent shows, open mics, weddings, and pretty much any opportunities me and her would get a hold of.

I truly started to improve my vocal, and performance abilities when I joined the music team as a sophomore in High School. This resulted to tremendous growth, which is something that I was always striving for. This inspired me to start doing more in-depth research on how to improve my song-writing, singing, and performing skills.

As my abilities improved, I started making more connections. Those connections led to more opportunities. One of those opportunities led to me recording my first song in a professional studio at 16, and since then the rest has been history.

Now, I sing and write music independently for all kinds of people, from lovers who wants to give the special gift of music, to other artists like myself who needs someone to write a song for them, and even small businesses in need of a jingle. I am also in the middle of writing my own first body of work, so cheers!

I’m just a little girl from Haiti with big dreams,

If I can, you can too!
